Are There Beaches in
Savannah Georgia?

Oh YES!

The beautiful beaches in Savannah Georgia are located 20 minutes or so from the historic district on fun and funky Tybee Island.

The Islands Expressway turned into highway 80 which takes a right turn onto the main strip (Butler Ave.) offering many access paths to the beach.

Please note: THERE IS NO FREE PARKING ANYWHERE ON THE ISLAND so be sure to pay your meters.

Beaches in Savannah Georgia - Pier

The pier is at the end of 16th Ave (Tybrisa Ave). This is the "downtown" area of Tybee Island and is lined with beach shops and beach bars frequented by tourists and locals. You'll have no problem finding live music and mixed drinks at the beaches in Savannah Georgia!

Did you bring your guitar or accordion? Tuesday nights at Doc's Bar welcomes all to a jam session... rock me mama like a wagon wheel.

Beaches in Savannah Georgia - Lighthouse

Maybe you're looking for a quiet sandy oasis. You'll want to try the other end of the island. The beach near the Tybee Island Lighthouse is our favorite little spot. It's quiet, close to public toilets, a fun restaurant and beach chair and umbrella rentals are available.
