Forsyth Park
Forsyth Park is the centerpiece of both The Historic District and The Victorian District of Savannah.

Its fountain, which can be seen all the way from Bull Street, is an icon of the city and possibly our most photographed site. Tami and I have shot hundreds of pictures there over the years and we're still tempted to click off one or two more every time we pass by it. Created in the 1840s and 50s, the park was actually foreseen by Oglethorpe in the 1730s and made possible by a land grant of 20 acres from Georgia Governor John Forsyth. Today, it's truly one of the loveliest city parks in America. Decked out with a playground for children, a band shell for outdoor concerts and The Fragrant Garden For The Blind. No trip to Savannah is fully complete without a stroll through this beautiful space.
