Haunted Savannah

Looking to discover a haunted Savannah???

Savannah has been called The Most Haunted City In America.

There are TONS of Savannah ghost tours, haunted bed and breakfasts, such as The Kehoe House or haunted inns like the 17Hundred90 Inn, haunted restaurants and block after block of haunted houses.

Some homes like the Sorrel-Weed House and the Wayne-Gordon House, birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low, are open for tours.

You can even experience a haunted Savannah while on a pub crawl in The Historic District or driving around in a hearse!

Night shot of Savannah Georgia

We've experienced quite a number of ghostly encounters while staying in Savannah. Strange orbs that show up in photos. Eerie voices singing in the middle of the night when no one was around. We've even seen things move that shouldn't have moved on their own.

Jeff, formerly King Of The Skeptics, has resigned himself that Savannah hauntings are as ordinary as Spanish Moss and has come to expect them as commonplace.

Whether you want to rip through the streets in a hot rod hearse, clip clop along in a horse drawn carriage or mix your spirits with spirits on a haunted pub tour, Savannah offers up some fun, ghostly adventures.

As Minerva said in 'Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil', "Sometimes you got to commune with the dead."

Our Savannah Ghost Story

It's amazing how many times we'd talk about our visits to Savannah and how often the topic of ghosts would come up. Laura's Cottage on East State Street
People would often ask if anything "weird" ever happened to us during our stay.

But, it wasn't until our visit of January 2010 that we really had some tales to tell.

We had rented a cottage in the historic district for the month and we didn't make it 24 hours before unexplained things began to happen. The first was a deck of cards which cut itself and forcefully plopped to the floor. It prompted Jeff to call out, "we're just here for the month"... with a little laugh.

Throughout the month we'd hear a woman singing, see lights flicker, discover objects where we hadn't left them and listen to our then 3 year old tell us stories about the woman who lived there...

I'd have a lot of fun going out and sharing stories with the ghosts tours that I'd see happen by in the late evenings.

It wasn't at all scary and has became a great story to tell our friends.

Has anything like that happened to you in Savannah?
