The Rail Pub

405 West Congress Street
(912) 238-1311

The Rail Pub in Savannah Georgia Most bar goers like to belly up to some spirits. At The Rail Pub, the spirits like to belly up to you!

In January 2010, The Northeast Florida Paranormal Investigations Society indeed investigated the bar and found it to be quite haunted and 'alive' with paranormal activity.

Since opening in 1890, this building has been everything from a boarding house to a brothel and it's located right in the middle of what used to be Savannah's red light district.

These are some good time ghosts.

Nowadays, the neighborhood is called City Market and it's heavily touristed and yet the bar caters to locals as well as out of town visitors.

They have CHEAP drink specials (quart bottles of Bud or Miller Lite for 5 bucks!) and all the roasted peanuts that you can shell, eat and throw on the floor.

The jukebox is fine and funky and the bartenders are cool.

My suggestion is to start out at happy hour here, meander over to The Crystal Beer Parlor or down to River Street for dinner, take a haunted ghost tour then wander back to The Rail for some late night revelry...then stumble back to your bed and breakfast on foot.

If you like 'funky' then you'll like The Rail.

Directions to next pub...
When you leave The Rail, take a right on to Congress Street. As you pass Franklin Square on the left, look for Belford's just beyond there. That is our next stop.
