Our site progress journal maps our journey into creating a niche, family focused, online business about the fun and funky vibe in Savannah, Georgia.

Where does the time go? LOL

We've been having lots of adventures. Our daughter started kindergarten and with all my free time (Ha) I decided to go back to school too. I'm majoring in Film & Television at SCAD. LOTS of work, but LOTS of fun too!

We have tons of pages to add to The Vibe Guide and will get those up in the early months of January. Our monthly visitors keep growing. We get a lot of attention on our history and haunted pages so we'll be investigating a few more ghost stories this coming year.

The big project this winter is our tourism directory. We are creating a space for locals to share their business. Should be live by early March and we are very excited to promote the buy local movement!

WOW! I can't believe how much time has past since my last post. We've been busy eating and shopping and writing it all down to share with you. I know... we've got it tough!

We are still having a lot of fun working on our site. If you're thinking of doing this, I'd highly recommend researching a topic you are passionate about. We LOVE Savannah, and we love sharing it.

Right now we have about 90 pages and a lot more planned this year. Some of these pages were written by you.

Our traffic is growing every month and we are ranking in the top 10 for a number of keywords. We started monetizing with Google Adsense. Business is booming! Savannah's travel season seems to run mid February to July 4th weekend. We may be a little behind in capturing traffic this year, but should be in a prime spot for next year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our little site is 4 months old today. Every month we see more traffic,our biggest day this month was a Sunday with 191 unique visitors.

We've added quite a few pages of our favorite places in Savannah and have more pages to add that will help when making travel plans such as more information on Bed and Breakfast locations, car rentals and the airport.

Lots of festivals and events to cover as well. It seems there is something new to take in every weekend.

October 24th, 2010

The last 3 months have been a lot of FUN work. We've been taking tours, pictures and videos to share with you AND you've been sharing your stories with us!!! Check out the story Mary shared with us about her Front Porch Tour to Savannah.

The 'Vibe Guide' has almost 80 pages and so far this month we've had 360 unique visitors and have been found by over 20 keyword searches. In fact, one of our keywords is ranking on the first page of Google! We love SBI!

September 24th 2010

The site is 2 months old! We've had 340 unique visitors so far this month and it looks like people are coming by more than once.

So THANK YOU for visiting Savannah with us! This truly is a fun way to share something we love.

We have 63 pages completed and just finished putting up a walking tour of Savannah's Eastern Squares.

We received a comment about Savannah Churches, so we are busy putting together some information on that.

The first Favorite Funky Finds newsletter featuring Oysters went out this week. We're working on a haunted one in honor of Halloween for October. Be sure to sign up!

September 9th 2010

I just posted our 50th page!

As promised we added a section where you could share your ghost stories of Savannah. We already have our first contribution about a "haunted" house on Abercorn. Check it out and let us know what you think.

We're working on the finishing touches of an online pub crawl and will have a printable version soon... still working on a map design.

Halloween has us brainstorming the haunted side of Savannah and we have a few tours lined up. This Sunday we're scheduled to take a guided tour of Bonaventure Cemetery, something I've always wanted to do. I'll get the info up as soon as I can!

Our promo video for SBI just won us a 3 month subscription! We're loving this system for creating our site about Savannah.

Happy 1 Month Anniversary!

WOW in one month we've completed 36 pages (exceeding our goal) and receive, on average, 8 unique visitors a day. 181 so far this month!!!

It's all very exciting.

Speaking of unique we are having fun creating online tours for Savannah's squares. And with Halloween on the way we will probably lean toward sharing Savannah's haunted side. Some of which we experienced first hand!

This next month we will add another 30 pages and create opportunities for you to share your stories about Savannah too.

Early August 2010

We are working through the "days" as laid out in the SBI guidelines and feeling motivate by our progress. The goal this month is to complete 30 pages and continue to write our personalities into the site.

July 2010

I had been following my friends Mary and Dave as they built their fantastic "front porch ideas and more" website. They were using Site Build It! - a full package system that helps people like us build online businesses.

We had just moved to Savannah and were surrounded by unpacked boxes when Jeff and I sat down to go through the promo video. "Let's go for it." Jeff said. So we signed up through Mary and Dave's site and started in on day one of the process.

Our hope was that our idea for a Savannah site would pass all the recommended tests, but for perspective we also tried a few other niches. We're thrilled to say Savannah won on both topic demand and because of our love and passion for it!
