Wright Square

tombstone of Tomo' Chi' Chi' The tall monument of pink Georgia marble in Wright Square is the tombstone of Tomo' Chi' Chi', Chief of The Yamacraw and friend of Oglethorpe.

Tomo' Chi' Chi's help and friendship made the settling of Savannah possible. When he died on October 5, 1759 he was given a burial with full British military honors.

Circling the square are the old post office and court house, now a federal courthouse, the Lutheran Church Of The Ascension, a CVS pharmacy, a fantastic art gallery called Golden Eye Gallery and, Peyton's favorite, Mabel Potter's Cupcake Emporium.
